When first seeing 'Rebel Child' I immediatly felt sadness radiating from the piece. The harsh tones and sad look really made this piece, I think. The direction and model are absolutely perfect for the feeling you were trying to create. His skin tone is skillfully captured and the glares in his eyes add to the piece, though I don't know why. Really, all the little details combine together to make this piece nearly perfect.
The editing on the computer (if there was any) was done very nicely, but there is one thing I would suggest.
And it is the focus (or blurring in photoshop) of your camera. The edges are a bit to soft for this piece and really, should be harsher and more defined. His face is nice, but his shoulders ect. are too blurred.
Over all, this piece is well shot and has good ideas of depth, color, and direction.
